Hiya everybody,
Does anybody know what the difference is between the ride height of the multi space rear axle and the van rear axle?
Reason why I ask is I would like to carry more weight in the back of my multispace and as I need to change rear axles I am toying with the idea of fitting a van one instead.
Is there much of a weight difference you can carry?
Thanks for your help.

Somebody told me the torsion bars are thicker which should mean more weight is definitely possible. If I was getting another axle I would definitely make sure it's from a van instead of multispace. I don't know if there is also difference between van versions like 475, 500, 600 & 800.

doesnt matter what axle you put on it , unless you get it reclassified on the v5 you can be pulled and weighed if the cops think your over loaded.
Im fair sure getting the weights changed on the V5 wont be a paperwork exercise - there will be some inspection required no doubt if you have changed parts. PLUS you would be needing to tell insurance its modified.

you may also have to change tires if you go down this route as the multispace has an 81 weight rated tire minimum and the vans want 88s.
(i have both and have to watch out when i switch to my spare winter tires that i use the right ones on each car)

Thanks for that Top drive,
Not an issue for me however , as my tyres are already 88's.
