Mileage Correction
#11
Read somewhere you have to put a sticker on the drivers door post too if you change the odometer.
have a read of the .gov website. The only reason I mention this is at present I'm doing my sister inlaws import RAV4 (NZ) , fog light, KPH /MPH on speedo and having a devil of a job trying to get an overlay or replacement speedo dial front with the correct scale (lockwoods /e-bay etc) One expensive-ish alternative was to renew the cluster and somewhere in the legal bumph I recall reading a paragraph stating a visible notice has to be installed, for selling on mainly but a record for legal purposes. Sorry!! Applies to USA

No such law, the only problem is when you con buyers by letting them believe the lower mileage is genuine.
If you need a mph speedo get down to the breakers and get a used one.

The mileage of the vehicle will have been recorded on previous MoT certificates and the vehicles service record.
When a speedo/odometer is replaced then the details should be recorded on the service record.
As long as a potential buyer isn't told that the vehicle has covered less miles than is true, which would be criminal
fraud, then a replacement doesn't have to be adjusted to indicate the vehicles correct mileage.
Obviously the above is always a good reason to only buy a car with a full service history!
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool

OK I just had someone do mine: http://www.midlandmileagecorrection.co.uk

Basically the story is when changing clocks or BSI the higher mileage writes to the other... in my case I changed the BSI set and ended up with over 100,000 more than I had on my clocks. What I was told was to call up before changing it and have a lower mileage put into the replacement BSI or clock that way we dont have this problem and it saves us money as we only have to correct the one.

Hope this helps.
