fitting a starter
hi ive been having intermitent trouble with my starter so ive brought a new heavy duty one of ebay.can anyone tell me if it can be fitted from under the bonnet as i had a quick look and thought it might be possable.or will it have to be a under the car job. the car is a 2004 2.0hdi. thanks for any help
i fitted the starter today and it is easier to do from under the bonnet.i took off most of the water hoses which made it better to get at. the moter was a fair bit bigger as it was a heavy duty realy spins it over now. i was a bit worried because the old starterhad 10 teeth and the new one had 11 so i contacted the supplirer and he said it would fit a 9, 10, or 11 tooth starter.if any of you lads are going to replace your starters i would recomend the 1.8kw heavy duty starter ideal for the comming winter.
Good work nice to see you got it sorted thank's for the info Happy Day's
