Hey all!
Im new to to the forum and new to Berlingos. Just purchased a bargain 2006 Berlingo van to kick start a new side business. I'll look into a newer van at a later date once things kick off. But for now, I'd like to refurbish or at least thoroughly clean/tidy/restore that van as its very rough at the moment! Its running OK as far as I can tell at the moment, just had a 12 month MOT sorted, but its been sitting a while unused so the motor has taken a few bangs to get moving again so that things like the fans work, and its needing a bit of acceleration to start, which is easing now after use.
The van has been WELL used (approaching 200k miles too!) by a guy dealing with gas supplies, so at the moment its like a moving construction site. Inside, the fabrics are filthy, seats discoloured (and some holes), plastics including dashboard/console scratched, everything is just rough, blemished and scratched. At the back, it has wood panels fitted, which are very filthy, there's TONS of dust and bits caked up in all crevasses, including underneath the wood. All the white paint work on the inside is blemished with lots of scratches and stains. The outside isn't too bad but also has scratches and stains on the paint work, and the bumpers are worn too.
At the moment it stinks! It smells like a construction workers van inside, so I'd like to give it a 'deep-freshen-up'.
There's a large list of things I'd like to repair/upgrade/add etc, but I just want to tidy it up to make it as close to new as possible, then work with that, so was wondering if anyone had any advice please? My main aim after restoring it is to install a mini fold down desk and mini chair in the back, as well as storage, to turn it into a mobile office.
Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!
