caravan towing

i know this hasnt been discussed in a while but, but the xtr 110 tows my 4 berth bailey (roughly 1200kg) the very best yes some weight in the car improves the ride, but the 1.6hdi is more than capable as a tow car, my only complaint is the nose weight as i wish this could be heavier as 70kg is still on the low side even if its a great increase over the mk2

It's only 55kg on the original Mk3 1.6hdi XTR110 with the earlier floor plan. You have checked yours is the later revised Mk3?

Anybody else do this wi their Berlingos?  Mine handles Daisy Daystar very well indeed.  I`ve seen a couple of Mk 2`s towing, but no other Mk 3`s. . .

Lord, I wouldn't tow a caravan with anything less than 150bhp, and definitely not with a Berlingo. It's push bikes on the pavement overtaking me when I'm travelling uphill, I'd be embarrassed about.

I tow a Sterckeman Starlett 4 berth lightweight with my 2012 1.6 Berlingo Multispace.  It's about 750kg before loading, and I have found absolutely no problems with it.  I can keep up with traffic easily and it's only on very steep hills that you have to take your time - but then I find I'm with other caravans! I think as long as you are careful not to try towing a heavy caravan then it's fine.
