Thanks to all for the advice and suggestions about my quandary. The car has only done 8040 miles due to our daughter moving back from Edinburgh to Kent, so I am thinking it is hardly run in yet. My thought is that any possible problems have not yet had a chance to show, hence the idea of an extended warranty for its 4th year to keep it covered. I am defiantly leaning toward the Citroen offering, it does cost more but maybe it will give greater peace of mind. I may move to Warranty Direct after the 4th year.
Thanks again

I've been following this thread as I'm coming up to the end of my 3 year warranty. I have just been quoted £363.00 per year from Warranty Direct for my Berlingo. Apparently I qualify for the Luxury Package. That's £130 dearer than Citroen so I shan't be bothering with that!

At 3.5yrs old I had egr valve fail & bill from my Cit garage was £520. I had a bit of an email exchange with Citroen UK & they refunded £320, ie cost of parts. Now at nearly 7yrs old &70k miles up only other replacements have been set of front discs & pads & just normal servicing.
