Towbar Wiring
#1
Hi all, I have fitted a towbar to my 56 plate 1.6 hdi 16 90hp Berlingo, now I need to wire it up. Do I need a bypass relay or can I just tap into the lighting wiring? I've read lots of posts about it but nothing conclusive to say either way, it seems plenty have people have done it successfully but someone else was saying about catastrophic bsi failures.

Can anyone give a definite answer? If I need a relay do I have to get a feed off the battery and take it all the way back to the rear or is there an easier way?

Thanks for any help!

I have a bypass relay on mine and lights work perfectly. Live feed is run front to back along chassis/brake pipes with inline fuse. There is supposed to be a live feed to the back end somewhere. Not too horrendous a job to wire in a bypass unit. Used to be wiring diagram on Towsure website...
