I have one off eBay, cost £25 from China. Got a micro usb card in it that records for about 90 mins then it starts recording over itself again.

I've got an HP f210 and like it Swiss law is not clear on their use but it I like having it. In my auto club magazine a few issues back there was an article on them. The auto club was in favor of them but cited one example where a driver had one, got hit by another vehicle and the driver that got hit introduced the video as evidence it was the other guys fault Judge tossed the video saying that the video violated the guilty party's right to privacy. That is typical of the Swiss legal system. You might fare better in the UK.

Been using two about 4 years now, occasionally one in back window in heavy traffic, they're great, it's a good quality picture if you set it to max resolution, 16gb micro. Got mine off e-bay. Just found this, it's in the same box and £10 less than what I paid for mine, grrrrr. Here's the link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1080p-Full-HD-...3409&rt=nc

The Ebay ones can be cheap chinese crap (I know, I was conned into buying one!). I now have an excellent one a "DOD DVR"... can't remember the model, but was highly recommended on the net, and takes excellent day AND night film footage. It captured a near collision I had on a dark section of the M1, when a woman nearly side-swiped me, and also forked lightning at night near Carlisle on the M6. I think I bought it direct of the manufacturers web site for about £140.

I got mine from China on ebay, but it was a fairly posh one - it's an "Ambarella 0806". The optional polarized filter almost eliminates windscreen reflections (after experimenting by rotating it while filming), and the hardwire kit makes installation much neater. It was £80+ for the whole lot. Video quality is amazing though - almost like watching HD TV. It's just as good at night too.

The one issue (with mine at least) is that this unit has GPS logging - it's very good, you can play back the video alongside a google maps view as it happens. But the athermic windscreen on mine made it impossible to get a signal anywhere except for one spot, very high up just behind the mirror. It has to go high enough so that the black dots along the top of the windscreen are visible in the video, but they're just across the sky almost always. Mine's got the automatic wipers, so perhaps the wiper sensor unit behind the mirror may have made placement more difficult than otherwise. I also don't know which Berlingos do and don't have athermic screens - mine's a blueish colour in the sun. Mine also has climate control - I don't know if this is why it has it, or perhaps all Multispaces with manual air con have it too.

My phone's sat nav works perfectly anywhere, but I know from reviews that it's known for having a very sensitive receiver, whereas the cam obviously has a more basic version that needs a stronger signal.

I don't think there's any problem with privacy in the UK - our country's the CCTV capital of the world, so I don't think we have a concept of legal privacy.

I think they're all made in China, but as I say, I've ran two of these now, for a long time, they've been reliable and 1080P so picture quality is excellent. There is the option of running a lower resolution to lengthen the recording, you can even use them to take pics outside the vehicle, should there be an accident. I've set mine up for 3 minute access points. All in all, I can't see any point in paying any more for one. Smile
