Hello Doots welcome to the forum where as it broken top middle bottom can or have you got the broken bit out you mite be able to pull the tube out the dip stick fit's in to get the broken bit out

I'd be tempted to take the sump off and make sure it is removed if I could not get it from the top. It would be in my mind that it could cause a problem at some point.
So where does this bit go then ?

Mine broke off and ended up in the engine but did no noticeable damage in several thousands of miles of driving. I think the new one cost about £9 from a Citroen dealer (who had 10 in stock, must be a common occurence!). I would not worry about it.

I notice that the dipstick on my new L2 90hp HDi now has a metal rod between the handle and the tip, instead of the plastic rod previously fitted (and prone to snapping!).
