Reset ecu/bsi
#1
Hi guy's,
Just got myself a Berlingo 2012 model.
It was bought with accident damaged to front end.
Started car before I bought it and started it when delivered however it had a fuel pipe/fuel cooler missing underneath from accident so quickly switched off engine.
Car from the begining seemed to have an electrical fault ie windows did not work but i thought that maybe it was because the car was in limp mode due to accident.
As soon as I fixed fuel problem I went to start engine but would not crank. Now shows breaking system fault and auto locking active, then goes into economy mode, also cannot read ecu with obd device which is suggesting to me that it could be immobilser problem.
At some point from buying to repairing fuel pipe problem the battery was disconected by my friend (not sure why?)
I have had auto electrician look at it but he cannot fix it... I beleive he could not connect to ecu either
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to reset things back to normal without me having to take it to main dealer?
Thanks a lot

You really need to get it connected up to citroen software to diagnose whats going on. Dealers have it as do independent garages and you can also get Chinese knock off versions of it on the net. The basic obd readers aint up to the job. If you go on French car forum they have a section of members and there may be one in your area who may be able to help.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Hi Tomcat3
The auto electrician that I had look at the problem has a good rep... he had verious lap tops and other equipment that he connected but without success...
If I understand correctly, what is needed is specialised citroen software..
I will try the french car forum shortly
Thanks a lot...

Hi again... I've still the same problem with reseting the ecu/bsi...
I got help from gazahull.. he conected to obd port with the right bit of kit... but could not read the ecu or bsi... the problem is they will not communicate.
I've also, tried the procedure http://www.citroenownersclub.co.uk/bsi-reset.html but without success...
I tested all fuses under bonnet and under dash and all is ok. however I noticed that fuse (green/grey) next to F17 has two different positions you can insert the fuse. I believe this is fuse for bsi
Im wondering what this is for and if by putting fuse into other postion it will reset the bsi?
Does anyone know about this?
Thanks
