'09 With Rattling Side Windows!
#1
Hi Guys,

I'm probably the least mechanically minded person you'll ever know... But the rattling side windows on my 09 XTR were getting on my nerves!

So off I popped to Citroen and picked up new nuts, bolts and washers for each side.

Happy I did because the rubber grommets that the bolts sit in were really brittle!

Here you go;

First one I took out completely and then struggled to get back in on my own so second I changed one bolt set at a time.

Now no noisy rattle and a little less wind noise as well.

£25 well spent on parts Smile

lol - I was going to try home tinting the windows, I watched a few YouTube vids on it and it looked easy enough... So I tried and now it's booked into my local Crow Windscreens to be done properly - lolol

My advice would be to get it done by a pro company.Ive tried it only once ,ended up in a tis-was ,ripped the damn stuff off and threw it in the bin.AAAAAgggggg. My mate has had a few of his cars done and i have to say an excellent job they made of it,costing im told for his latest 2008 BMW around £120.I think for me it made the inside of the car seem a little dark but it was his choice.The lingo of course has much bigger windows so a tint shouldnt make you feel like your in a cave.Be careful if you want to tint the front side windows,the law doesnt like it.Spoil sports.!!Oh yes be aware that you have modified your car so could affect your insurance,best check just in case.

Do they have rubbers on the inside as well, or just the outside ? Think mine need doing too.

I'm sure you will be able to get the rubber washer's in a rubber washer set to fit and save some money .
and this one for the member's with the opening rear window on the tail gate the rubber washer's on the strut's fixed to the window glass will shrink deteriorate and the fixing's to the window will come loose and move and put pressure on the glass so when it get's hot from the sun on it or from the rear heater on a frosty day and slamming it shut may shatter the glass so make sure they stay tight ???
                                     Smile  It's too orangey for crow's It's just for me and my dog  Smile
