Aerodromes.net

For anyone else who's into a bit of General Aviation, i'm trying to compile a worldwide (or at least european) database of all airfields/private grass strips/aerodromes...all in one place.

Feel free to take a look, and if you know of any near you (for those into that sort of thing), then please feel free to contribute!

Sheffield aero club fly from Thorpe Salvin near Worksop, Netherthorpe airfield. I've been past but never had anything to do with flying although their flying lesson trial experience look like they would be good fun.
So where does this bit go then ?

Are you a pilot Andre? Got your own Gulf V :-). When I lived in the US I generally had small air strips within biking distance and would often visit. Owners were a pretty friendly bunch and would often take one up for a ride after I helped with some maintenance like oil change or break pads. Just standing near a P-51 when it started was amazing. Those v-24 Allison's were awesome. Sadly, nothing around here like that in these parts.

Cheers for the suggestions guys, i'll be adding them onto the map as soon as i'm on a decent computer Dodgy

Any suggestions for Europeans (or further afield) strips? I'm thinking France, Germany, Italy?

@3rensho...i wish. Was always planning on taking it up as a career but the costs were that bit too high, so instead i'm on the way to doing it privately now!

There are plenty to add, a book I recently read,'How England made the English', says that 1,700 airfields have been built in Britain in the last hundred years ranging from grass airstrips to Heathrow, including 450 built during WWII of which around 300 survive.
