Tailgate door and bumper wanted.Mk 1
#1
Has anybody got a EXCELLENT condition dark green Tailgate AND a green or black bumper to fit a mk 1 Multispace. Its a 2002 so not sure if a Mk 2 will fit.Perhaps someone will know, certainly looks the same.Willing to collect if its good enough.Mine unfortunately got damaged when i backed into a steel post which was hidden from view.!!! I shall be investing in some reversing sensors after i have fitted the new door ! I have cash but no silly prices please,i may even buy a complete car if i can get it to Plymouth.Thanks.Please send me a private message if you can help.

Thanks a lot Tomcat.I had seen the one in Scotland but like you say its a little to far and too much of a gamble at that distance, but the other which i didnt see looks promising, the rear door looks ok,i'm not concerned about the lack of luster that could be brought back easily enough just as long as theres no dents and its not rusty it'll be worth the trip up to wales and have a nose.I'll message him and see what happens.I do appreciate your input on this one ,i really didnt expect any replies at all. Thanks again.

Hi Tomcat.Over the past few days ive been trying to get information from the guy in Wales as per your link. What a plonker,i dont think he understood English ,to get some info from him was i have to say like getting blood out of a stone,so ive given up on that one ,i really dont want to spend £70 on fuel to find the door didnt meet my expectations,so,im still looking!! Whilst im on do you know ,or should i throw it open ,does anybody know if the Mk1 van rear bumper will fit a Mk1 Multispace, they do look the same other than the colour, the van being in bare plastic.I'll find a decent tailgate at some stage i'm sure, just a matter i think of keeping an eye on ebay methinks .

That's not good news I thought you would be sorted I never understand why people advertise stuff then never answer questions or get back to you. Looking at your picture is the damage that bad couldn't the dents be knocked out and filled then a re spray or would that work out expensive. I'm pretty sure the bumpers are the same painted or plain it looks identical to the one I had on my van. What you need to do is stalk berlingos around Plymouth for the next few days and compare rear ends, but mind how you go or you could get locked up. I will keep looking in case something turns up.

The picture that was posted on the 19th was pre damage, ill try and get one up later that has the damage showing.Yes your right i could fill and respray and you'll see by the picture when i post it that ive already pushed the crease back out as best as i could so it doesnt look half as bad.The point is i think, by replacement at a budget of £100 which is what ive got in my mind it would be a more economical job than going through the process of grinding ,filling, and spraying, ive got the gear ,compressor spray gun and know how and have done a lot of paint and bodywork in my time, but being a busy man and i would rather spend an hour fitting a new tailgate and bumper than spend 2 or 3 days rubbing down ,beating metal, filling then painting and wetsanding for a fine finish and as i havnt got a spray booth the finish would never be quite as good as a pro job!.I know green tailgates are out there,i think its just a matter of keeping my ear to the ground, its not affecting the drive,i'm just lucky i guess that the rear glass didnt go.I thought that i might make a claim on the insurance but have ruled that out as they would probably write the car off, being 13 years old, that would be a travesty. Thanks a lot Tomcat for your interest i can always go to plan B i guess if i cant find a decent one.
