Clutch squeal and judder on 2012 blingo auto

1.6HDi with 79k has a squeal when moving off under load or on a hill, sometimes accompanied by a judder. Car changes up to second gear and squeal vanishes. Is this early signs of clutch failure?

My 14 plate does the same Squeal but no Judder. Confused

Only does it as you say on a hill or under heavy load.

It had me concerned when I first started hearing it but I've convinced myself that given it wasn't even a year old when I bought it with less than 10k on the clock in April this year that it shouldn't be a major issue.

If your stupid enough to try and pull away without releasing the handbrake it will really squeal! Confused

My Van did that and two days later bearing burnt through clutch plate.In garage for clutch.

It's an auto box, get it looked at by someone qualified there is no thrust bearing to squeal so it could be something or nothing. Are you sure it's not alternator belt slipping or something else ?
So where does this bit go then ?

actually, they are manual boxes...

So is it a semi auto box, auto or is it a manual ? Is it a diy approach to get it fixed and does it have a thrust bearing? So Alistair could be right with the thrust bearing going through the clutch spring do you think ?
So where does this bit go then ?

Its a manual gearbox & clutch with automatic gearshift & no clutch pedal. Squeal could be loose belt or thrust bearing & judder could be clutch so needs looking at.
