Dog guard fitting
#1
Does anyone have a dog guard fitted to their M49/M59? I have dogs and an M49 and have found a guard on eBay which looks good.

Do they need special fittings or will they fit any car? Looks like they have special rods which fit in holes in the roof- not sure if mine has these? How do dog guards fit in?

Thanks in advance!

Hi. If you mean the guard that fits above the rear seats, it fits into two holes, one either side of the car. We got a Citroen part, dont know what an after market part would be like exactly. The Citroen thing is a bit of a pain, as it has two brackets that have to be fitted. The brackets have the small rods that fit into the holes in the car. So you fit the brackets and then try to fit the guard into the car. The low part of the guard is held by the seat. We have the modutop, and I don't know if it because of this, but I can't get the thing in without taking one of the barckets off first. So it is not a quick thing.

As for keeping the mutts in the back when you open the tailgate, we went for a Barjo guard. Made to fit different models. Has a drop down opening near the top to access the locker at the rear of the modutop.

Thanks- have seen a couple of the genuine Citroen ones on eBay, but want to make sure they bolt straight in as I don't want to get it and find bits missing!
