the issue with having lit up clocks is you get stupid people driving around on DLR's thinking their lights are on.... because the dash is lit up and they see light in front of them, of course the back of the car is in darkness, so annoying for us guys but designed in to protect us from Stupids...

once you know about it, it's not an issue, ign off lights off and on again, you only want them on sidelights anyway so people know you're parked and also don't get blinded by dipped beam...

…But you can't let someone else drive the thing at night without special instruction, coz it's not standard lighting.  It should revert to sidelights when engine switched off, like all other cars.  It ain't right and it ain't SAFE!

I've now had my van 7 or 8 weeks now and done just under 4200 miles in it. I still don't see the light issue as being a problem as my previous Bipper that was on an 09 plate was exactly the same.

What I do find annoying is having to turn the wipers back on even if you leave them in the on position when removing the ignition key. However I did find out tonight that the wipers work even without the key in the ignition.

Every cloud I suppose.

Do you have the delay option?  On mine, the front (and back, I think) lights stay on for a programmable amount of time after switching off.  Do you also have a parking light option?

As for switching off the Eco mode - give it a try, it's weird at first but it's brilliant when you get used to it.  It uses some pretty clever logic too - it doesn't stop if you're nudging along in a queue, and also doesn't if the outside and engine are cold.

I doubt they're going to go back to making them like they did in the old days.

No Doofer, no flat battery.  With a conventional (ie 99% of cars I know of, and everything except bippers and new lingo's) you have to switch the ignition fully OFF before you can remove the key/leave the car.  Just switching the engine off should leave the key in Acc(essory) position for, well, accessories like radio - and sidelights ….and wipers, Tree!  No I don't have the delay option ("Guide me home"?). But that's on dipped h/lights isn't it, re battery draw, and quits on you after a few minutes?  Neither have I found any parking lights yet!  I call it an accident waiting to happen. Undecided
But please tell how you switch off Eco mode?  Cheers

Thanks Solent, I think you're right.  And this brand new Lingo doesn't have stop/start either.  AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

it's the good old issue of it's a good van, you're just wanting something different..

as for giving special instructions to new drivers of it, you'd like to think they would take some time to get used to it not just turn off the engine and jump out etc, most cars with auto lights (which is becoming the norm nowdays) go into darkness when you turn them off

Get used to it??  But the first you know is when you first switch off the engine in dark conditions.  And point is, ATL, that this model does NOT have an auto setting.  If it did there'd be no problem coz I could use "guide me home" for stationary lights.
Take it from me after 45 years of driving, it's highly alarming/dangerous to be plunged into darkness yet find the light switch still "ON"!
The dealer says it's to save the radio running dow the battery.  Unfortunately Citroen threw out the baby with the bath water!
The Acc ignition position was there all those years for good reason.

you still have the get me home lights, one flash of the high beam stalk and all your lights are on for a good 30 seconds, enough time to decide if you want to put on your side lights etc, by a quick spin of the light switch off and on again,

No mate, as I said there is NO Auto control and no "get me home lights" on this model.
