anyone know what this does
was changint the wishbones on the car yesterday and on the drivers side one there is a cast metal thing that the that goes onto the mounting bolt but i dont know what its for and i forgot to take any pics
I did the drivers side on mine for MOT. I don't know what the thing is for but I refitted it anyway. It looks like it might be to stop the pulley from hitting the chassis leg if anything serious happens to the pulley or engine mounts.
So where does this bit go then ?
its a strange one ive changed hundreds of wishbones and never seen anything like it before

Angle grinder going to help you Smile
haha got myself a impact gun last week best thing ive bought in ages. grinder was brought into play on the drop links though
Could you please send us a pictures of a cast metal part?
ill try and get a pic tomorrow if its dry
I have always thought its to stop the engine dropping out if the mount fails, as suggested.
is the engine falling out a common problem?
Not related to Berlingo but we had a Clio diesel which I bought as a write off and repaired to put back on the road and I had to remove the front subframe for part of the job. There was a big lump of cast iron bolted under the front valance that I could see no purpose for other than to balance something on the other side. I put it back as I thought it must be there for a reason same as the piece on the Berlingo which seems to be aluminium so not so heavy.
So where does this bit go then ?
