[Tires & Wheels] Time for New Tyres
#1
The factory fitted Michelins on my 2013 XTR are due for renewal.  They've done about 27,000 miles which I think is pretty good.  I was looking at these as they are cheaper than the Michelin Primacys and have slightly better Fuel/Grip/Noise ratings

Has anyone used these Goodyears on their Blingo - if so, what do you think of them.  Or should I stick with the Michelins as they are a known quantity?

Grateful for any views.

I've had bad experiences with goodyear ultra grip tyres. Extremely uneven wear at the rear axle, lasted only for one season.
No problem with Semperit and Uniroyals so far. Must have been the tyres?? 195/65

Michelins are the best & most expensive for a reason.
In my view the day you start fitting cheaper parts is the day you start ruining your car Smile

I've been using Avon ZV5 tyres since the Michelins wore out and I am very happy with them, remember your car will likely have the TMPs in the rim so don't let the fitter rip the old valve stems out!

Thanks for all your replies.  I think I will end up sticking with the Michelins since they are a known quantity, and as I only do 8,000-10,000 miles per year they've lasted nearly three years which ain't bad even at the price they are.

Cheers,
Mark

we changed to the GoodYears after the first change, now having had 7 sets of them in 2 years, you won't find better on a Berlingo, I've stuck 4 winter tyres onfor now but will be going back to Goodyear come spring time

I find the Barum Brilliantis work well and wear well too, a good compromise between cost, wear and grip. I've had a few sets of these now ( 1.9D van ).
