Lowering Berlingo 2004
#1
Good afternoon everyone,

My name is Martijn and i'm from the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands we don't have a great visited Berlingo forum, so it's awesome to join here.
I have the Citroen Berlingo from 2004 and i would like to lower it a bit.

I see several springs on the internet, but i have no clue what to use.
At the moment i only load some mountainbikes and some bike stuff, sometimes some holiday stuff.
Not much after all.

Anyway, what spring can be good for my Berlingo? Can i use from other brands and will it be hard to do by yourself?

Here is a photo of the Berlingo, at the moment it got some more stickers on it because of the company i own.
Next summer the van will be updated a bit more. Only some bad problems, there is a crack in the front window and the cutch does not quite stand back.

Hello  Martijn welcome to the forum Smile on the front they use 306 spring's or coilovers on the rear you have to adjust the torsion bar can be a real pain on an old torsion bar can be rusted in try it first and if you can't move the torsion bar you will need a recon axle if you get a recon axle get one with grease nipple's in so you can grease it and keep it free.

Hello Jed,
Thank you very much!

For the front, you mean the Peugeot 306 springs? When the Torsion is a bit rusted, will it be a pain in the ass to move it? Or can it be done easily? Will be the question if i will try it or go to the car garage.

Do i need to take care of something, because of the lenght of the new springs? Or how do i measure how many mm the car will drop?

The front springs they use to lower a 306 will fit the berlingo so you can what ever they drop on a 306 30 mm 40 mm or go for the coil overs you can drop the front as much you want .
The rear has a torsion bar fitted you have to take the torsion out and move it but because it been there since 2004 you will have a lot of work trying to get it out more work than it's worth you can try first and if you cant get it out you will need to to get a recon axle fit it to you van a recon axle you will be able to move the torsion bar to what hight you want.
