When cold kicks out a lot of smoke and until warm cuts out.
Had the lexia on it as there's no engine management light coming on and the only think I see in their is that even at freezing or below. Ambient temperature is a rock steady 30 degrees even after correcting have had a play with the wires near the MAF sensor as I believe its integrated to no effect.
Where else to look?

If your ambient air temp,is at 30degrees, then the airflow meter is faulty (or the wiring). This could well be one of the issues with starting from cold. It's more important to look at the coolant temperature though, as this sets the fuel mixture to an extent.

If you are getting no codes that seems odd?
As Lighty says the temperature sender can also cause a problem but usually throws a code, it is also a common problem on the 2.0hdi's along with the MAF

Is there a list of these common problems, I changed the coolant temperature sender about a month ago which has stopped the temperature gauge going sky high and reporting stop before falling back to normal. the temperature now reads ok.
Also have no dialogue with the Airbag ecu.
