Odd gadget under the car
#1
While I was fiddling around jacking up the car today, I noticed this strange gadget, mounted to the underside of the floor pan, under the drivers seat.

Looks a bit like cooker grill, with two pipes leading into it, quite fragile looking, considering where it's located.

Any ideas what it might be ? Something to do with FAP system, or something to do with aircon?

I should have taken a photo while I was down there.

Ok, here's an interesting photo

Seems a bit daft, they've gone to all that trouble bolting a ruddy great sump guard under the XTR, then they stick this fragile looking thing down there.

I'd assumed it was the condensor/radiator for the air con. I'd agree, it does look a bit fragile and exposed.

Can't be to do with the FAP system because ours is a 90hp and they don't have the FAP. Or they didn't when we got ours.

Yes, I was coming to that conclusion. I've not noticed this before on my previous Citroens with air con, although this is the area that used to drop condensate onto the floor, under my Picasso. Always assumed a drain pipe emerged there, thought condenser lived in engine bay.

It is a fuel cooling plate for the retun diesel , as this i hot do to the high pressure from the comonrail , it is essential on engines with pump Injector but now there is more and more comonrail engines that are fitted with the fuel cooling plate .
