Only just noticed your comment. Mine sounded exactly like you described of your noise, noticeably worse when the weather is cold. They just put it down to the precision of the struts, and perhaps a rubber seal somewhere hardening up. Dealer replaced both front struts, and the noise went. After a month it started to come back, but I just learned to ignore it. As the miles have gone on, something softened up I think as its gone away totally now. Very odd, but a quirk of the Berlingo. Dealer was really good about it all in the end
