If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

 That is really helpful as this is one of the jobs on my "to do" list.

Can anyone recommend where to buy the replacement filter and what they cost? Is this a main-dealer only part?

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

To be honest I purchased mine via the main stealers at £16.00 as I ended up buying the Pollen, Oil (which I went in for) and the Air which cost me £52.00 for the three, I dont think that the pollen and air filters have to be geniune, these are available for less than £8.00 each from normal factors.

If you decide to buy from main dealer, check prices for the same part for a Peugeot Partner from the Peugeot dealer.
They are virtually the same vehicle (the pollen filter is the same) but prices can vary between Pug and Citroen

Thanks but this is not the same as mine as there is no felt cover but a solid plastic cover under which is another cover held on by 2 nuts under which appears to be part of the pedal assy has anybody any other ideas

Think caravancrazy is looking on the wrong side (mentions the pedal assembly) as the filter is located on the n/s judging by the bonnet release in the 1st picture.Confusedillyme:
