Centre Storage Bin (XTR)
#1
Hi folks

I like the look of the centre storage bin in the XTR that is between the seats.  How are these mounted?  I am wondering what I would need to buy to install one of these in a VTR.

Thanks

Andy

MIGHT have just found the answer in the camping thread - http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/thread-40...ml#pid3087

Hi Andy,
I too liked the look of the centre console for my old Pug Partner (2012) which had a big gap between the front seat, so I bought one of ebay and then worried how to fit it.
What I found was under the scabby bit of carpet between the seats were a variety of small bolts holding down the plastic thing in this space. I simply removed two of these, got some longer ones out of the parts bin then drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the bin which lined up perfectly and secured the bin to the car - was good enough to last 3 years before I swapped the pug for a bingo, which had said console already fitted. So now I have a spare roll top console in the garage.....

I've removed mine a few times, when carrying loads especially.  The front passenger seat won't fold flat while it's in place as the arm rest hits it.  So fixing anything in permanently may be a problem.

Was never a problem in my Pug - the front seat folded forward flat no issues with bin in place, not that was something I did so often(like twice perhaps with some fencing panels) - in 3 years I never had the need to remove it.

Just tried it & of course you're perfectly correct, however to remove the armrest is 5 seconds and no tools, so is not a show stopper - depends how often you're going to fold flat the front seat, and whether you want it completely flat.

What's the removal technique? I'll have a play later.

I fold mine about every fortnight usually, when it needs to go into van mode.
There's a little button to press on the plastic rim on the seat. If you put the arm rest upright it's on the forward facing edge. You press and the arm rest can be pulled out.
