Those "clicks" coming from a small speaker in the steering wheel controls assembly.

Not sure where it may be on your model but on the Mk1 it was tucked behind the lower part of the steering column cover.

If you just want a noise, get a small buzzer and wire it between both left and right indicator wires, it will buzz when left or right are switched on because one wire always rests at earth

The relay as such is built into the bsi and nothing to do with the com unit behind the steering wheel, they use the little beeper to make an artificial noise so you know the lights are on

No, it's "plug and play" (unless the van is equipped with stability control ESP).

You have to buy exactly the same unit that you have: with or without rear wiper, with or without front fog lamps, with or without automatic lights, automatic wipers, etc...

Its just standard no front fogs or anything else, does the steering wheel come off easy? Looking at it,it needs to come of,then there the air bag to contend with,GULP !!!

There are tutorials on youtube for removing the air bag - please note (and don't take this the wrong way) if you are not a competent DIY mechanic please leave it alone and take your replacement part and van to a friendly garage. Im a retired mechanic so this kind of job is easy easy for me. But i sometimes have the fault that i think everyone can do what i can do and encourage people to have a go - the results can be disastrous, and air bags can be dangerous so please take care if you do have a go at it.
