Get the rubber bobbins that they fasten to as well, they are the reason most people lose the cover when they delaminate. I fitted some little exhaust bobbins instead and use 10mm M6 nuts to hold the cover on. It takes a bit longer to remove but it's a lot more secure.
This kind of thing but they were only about 60p each from the local car spares shop.
So where does this bit go then ?

Yes! Get those. I use the same ones. I've not had one break yet. The other ones are as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

That looks like a good alternative. Mine from the local spares shop were Renault exhaust bobbins and they were only about 60p each and if I fitted some wing nuts they would be similar to the eBay item.
So where does this bit go then ?
