Berlingo B9 from Portugal
#1
Photo
Hello everybody!

My name is Nuno Soares and I am from Portugal. For anyone who doesn't know, it's NOT a part of Spain Tongue
In November 2014 I bought a 2009 Berlingo Multispace. Bought this van because it can transport a family of five (it has five real seats) and, when needed, it can turn itself into a full size cargo van.
Bought It with 74000 Km and it's reaching 104000 Km and, besides the normal services, only the windscreen washer pump had to be replaced.
It is now giving me a ABS, ESP and ASR error, but it's already been diagnosed as a malfunctioning switch that stays behind the break pedal. I'm just waiting for the part to arrive to get it replaced.
Besides that, no problems at all, so as you can imagine, I'm very happy with it.

This was the van as I bought it, only had added the roof bars and the wind deflectors...

Since I bought it, I've made a few changes and got some aditions, to get it a little more usable and unique. The major changes were:

> Added a custom boot rubber carpet, so I won't damage the original one.
> Installed roof bars (don't really know if that model didn't bring them or if the previous owner removed them).
> Added wind deflectors on the front doors.
> Replace all the exterior lights with SMD ones, except the front fog lights, blinkers and licence plate lights. The blinkers weren't replaced because I can't find ones that won't blink faster as if some of them were blown and the licence plate lights were replaced, but they keep on blowing leds, so I kind of gave up. The front fog lights I didn't replace yet because I'm thinking about replacing the whole set with ones that have DRL included.
The H4 CREE kit I use is very good, not as good as Xenon, but brighter that stock halogen. I'm not using Xenon because here it's not easy to get it legal...
> Replaced all the interior lights with SMD ones.
> Replaced the tail lights with the tainted ones from the 2012 on models.
> Replaced the stock stereo (the CD player never worked) with an 2DIN Android one, with GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, etc.
Needed to buy a stalk adapter in order to maintain the steering wheel controls and the reverse sensors working.
> Added a reverse camera (connected to the new stereo).
> Added a driving camera (connected to the new stereo).
> Lowered the van, using H&R springs.
> Got the original wheels repaired and painted black.
> Got the roof bars painted black to match the wheels.
> Got wheel spacers, 20mm back, 16mm front.
> Added black surroundings to the licence plates.

All the updates and changes were made or installed by me (except the lowering springs), so if you are thinking about doing anything like them to your van, I'll be glad to help!

So, this is the van now...

And that's it! Next projects are...

> Replace broken right wheel arch (already have a almost new one, just waiting for the clips to arrive).
> Install an amplifier and subwoofer (custom box already made, just figuring out how to get the battery wire trough the firewall).
> Replace the original speakers.
> Replace fog lights with CREE or Xenon, and DRL.
> Add two headrest screens, connected to the new stereo.

Thank you. When I got the wheels repaired, I was given the option to keep the original color or to choose another one.
Since the rear windows are tainted, I thought black would give the van a darker look.
Really liked the outcome, but then the bars just didn't seat well with it, so I got the painted too.
Both the wheels and bars are painted in a semi-glossy black (don't really know how to describe the color), but they are not matte nor glossy... something in the middle!

So, someone just gave me a set of 17 inch wheels. They are called Caesium, and are from Peugeot.

They are bit damaged, thinking about get them repaired... but since I really like the dark look of the van, I don't know if I'll replace my current wheel...
Any opinions?

We call it satin black Nuno, it looks good on them.
So where does this bit go then ?
