driving home yesterday the stop light came on for a few seconds then went off. I stopped the car and had a look about all the fluids were fine notning loose or broken but when I turned the key the oil level guage was at the lowest level. does that sound like the sensor is on the way out

It does sound like the sensor I never trust the sensor always use the dipstick. Not sure what engine you have but I think on the 1.6hdi its on the back of the block near the bottom but I could be wrong. May be worth cleaning the connection and making sure its sound.
