[Engine] 06' Multi space spark plug recommendations?
#1
Hello all,

I have had my Berlingo now for 3 days and everything seems to be in good working order and running smooth, however, the previous owner is not sure on the life of the spark plugs, therefore I will be changing them.
Better safe than sorry.

I did a quick forum search to see if this topic has been covered, which I imagine it has, many times over.
However, I came up short and with little.

I would really appreciate any recommendations and help.

Thank you.

Bosch or NGK should be fine but get them from a reputable supplier as counterfeit is not unheard of. GSF or Eurospares will know the exact plugs for your model.

Placebo effect definitely but I felt it's running better with the FR 8 SC+, also get this, they are cheapest on eurocarparts. I noticed they are running their usual discounts so total cost is like 8gbp.
Previous ones fitted to mine were the NGK LFR6B but they were kinda running rough even after cleaning them. Maybe the old coil pack killed them. It really doesn't matter, use either as I'm sure from new they probably run ok, but keep in mind I'm not the only one complaining from the LFR6B.

Bosch make a good plug, I used to get free ones of all types for product testing / development when I worked for them..

The basic Bosch plug is fine ... the fancier ones only really give ( in the real world ) a subtle improvement over basic ones and are best used in higher performance engines - high compression high revs and high output engines.

I tested in classic cars /motorcycles, cooking version cars year 1990 through 2000 cars also MR2 type cars plus a whole range of modern Jap bikes - good fun and free fuel to boot !

Stick to the official " equivalent " plug and don't try to go hotter or colder it isn't worth it !
