That  is a different dynamic to my situation. You are representing your customers to their customers.

Do you think all that cleaning on a regular basis keeps your van in better condition?

Another example of the versatility of our wee vehicles.

You have me intrigued, what on earth is "tramping"?

Tramping is a widely used term in the road transport industry for when a driver and vehicle go from job to job, from any point in GB to any other point, rather than from their base to a delivery point, then return directly to their base. This mode of working obviously requires the driver to have a "night out" with their vehicle away from base.

were out in the sticks , work on the theory when brushing the vegetation on narrow lanes the layer of mud is a sacraficial layer absorbing the scratches leaving the underlying paint untouched.

we use a full set of rubber mats which get shaken out as required.

lights and number plates are cleaned when necessary and the mot guy requested we give the underside a squirt with the power washer before the test

A Bingo owner after my own heart Wink

Isn't it amazing that human construction is always over-budget and years late and yet nature manages it overnight? I have been doing some forest walks recently and the combination of misty mornings and low sun highlighted huge cobwebs strung between Scots Pines. The trees were, in some cases, 3-4 metres apart and the main part of the web had a diameter of 70-80cm. Amazing feats of engineering.

Back to cars... I have just bought some waterproof seat covers which I think will be a sound investment. I had a choice of covers: with slits for the arm-rests or without. I decided on the latter as I didn't see the point of the armrests getting wet and dirty. The seat covers without slits were a little tight to go over the armrests so I removed them. The only downside is my other-half complains that waterproof covers feel cold when you first sit on them.
