Hi and welcome to the forum

Don't take this personally, but I don't really think that publicising any weak-spots in security is really a great idea on a public forum!

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

I don't think there are any particular weak spots exclusive to the Berlingo (after all, it shares its DNA with lots of Pugs/Citroens in one way or another).

The best way is prevention. We had metal fill ins for the back windows, the lock is a good idea but might attract unwanted attention at the same time.

Probably a no tools left in this van overnight sign would be just as effective.

chris -once i read my post back it sounded a bit mmmmm:brickwall:

ive ordered a set of locks a bit like these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solex-3-Door-L...415d1a619e

what do yous think of these ?

would you think these would be good enough on there own on the back door -or something a little more stronger needed such as a stop lock ?

these were my plans
1) install new locks as in the above link,i was going to install a metal plate behind the lock for more security Cool
2)get security clear film (like window tint but clear) for the front drivers and passenger door windows,is someone tries to smash it ,hopefully it will be quite hard to get thro
3)remove door lock pins,(cant remember the name) (its the bit you push down from inside the van to lock the door)
4)sort out back door windows i.e grill / mesh ect
5)fit secure van lock such as stop lock /bulldog /shackle and lock
6)look at fitting sone kind of "cups" over the existing inside front door handles

any other suggestions ?
ill be well fooked if i loose my keys lol

Make sure you don't forget where you put the emergency key that comes with the new locks - I know I would lose it if I had them Sad

Very good, but some low-life might just want to nick the G.S.D......

Very brave but ultimately stupid if they did try....

Hi dj paul.I recently made security mods to my rear doors.
Introduced a new lock and a guard if the doors panels are rippe open. See MIDI MOD - lock security in the tuning and styling threads.

GSD's are VERY DEFENSIVE of their territory and owners, someone did pinch her Tracking Harness and long Line when I left the rear door open for a few minutes a couple of years ago, she tracked em down.

Needless to say they were old enough to have known better and will think twice before trying anything like that again!
