Front windscreen washers not working.
#1
Hi All,
Does anyone know how to remove the windscreen washer pump ? My front washers have stopped working. I have blown down the pipe with an airline but no luck there! Back one is working fine and I can hear the pump going when trying the front ones but no water comes out. Just wondering if the pump is gunked up.
Thanks for any tips with this,
Mike.

Dont know what model you have but a mk 2 has a single pump with 2 outlets, in theory if its coming out of the back I wouldn't expect the pump to be at fault. I'd be inclined to check the hose itself for kinks or blockages. If you have a mk 2 you need to remove the offside inner wheel arch panel (the front one in the wheel arch). You'll need a torx bit if it still has the original screw that fixes the inner to the bumper underneath. Hope this helps.Big Grin

Helps allot, thanks. It is a mk 2, I have checked the hose and blown it back through to the washer bottle. I am thinking that maybe the pump is blocked on the outlet to the front washers if that makes any sense.

Its a possibility the pump is blocked but slim I would think. The outlets are next to each other using a common source. They're not the best pumps as the impeller shaft passes through a rubber grommet which eventually wears out and fills the pump body electrickery bits with water.

Thanks, I will do another check on the hose before taking the pump out.
