Facebook...

Facebook? Facebook?? Facebook???
Why are we now on Facebook?
Facebook is for sad people with no lives who never go out, just sit in front of their computer (or Jeremy Kyle on their 52" flat-screen tv from Cash Converters...) eating Value packs of chocolate digestives and party size tubes of salt and vinegar Pringles, messaging people they went to school with in 1983.
Need I go on...?
Whereas (on the whole) Berlingo owners are slightly more refined, prefering country pubs, real ale, Radio 4 (and Radio 3, and occasionally Radio 2), walks in the country, driving across Europe, the National Trust, miles per gallon; not 0-60, re-cycling (and cycling), Daniel O'Donnell, BBC 2 and the Queen.
Of course there are exceptions to the rule, as you will see in the following posts...

Most of what you say I agree with.

Some I would take issue with, but Daniel O'Donnell??????????? There are limits to what a bloke can endure

This is the post of the year, thanks for joining the site Martin.

Don't forget the kids on Haribo for tea.

It has always been in the top right and until we get a little bit more popular, we are going to have to ditch the Continental lifestyle.

It won't be in your face for long, it was put there to draw some attention to it, which in fact, this thread has done nicely! :woop:

J90 you summed up Facebook users perfectly, IMHO. Goes for Twitter too. Indeed the post of the year.

Just because you old farts don't like facebook, don't tar us all with the same brush.

Here,here.

I may be an old fart at 55,but I would still like to think I can embrace today's technology and trends.
I use Facebook to stay in touch with old friends and workmates, some of which are a lot older than me!

I am also a member of several truck and transport related groups on there where member's put up pictures of old trucks and transport companies long gone,I think we all like to look back with a nostalgic glint in our eye from time to time.

I do spend quite a bit of time on the pc,simply because I can't get about much at the moment as I've just had a knee replacement operation,I don't watch Jeremy Kyle because I haven't got a clue who he is and I don't like chocolate digestives!

I do however like country pubs and as for real ale,I can take it or leave it,I do listen to Radio 4 as well as Radio 2 (shock-horror!) and re-cycling here in Belgium is a part of life, much more than it is in the UK.

And driving through Europe?
Ha Ha,I do that every week when I am at work. You see,I'm probably what you (misinformed) people call a 'Hairy Arsed Lorry Driver'!
I have been driving trucks in Europe (and beyond) for over 32 years and it still annoy's me how the general public loathe trucks and their driver's,they all want them off the road and want everything put on the railways.Fine,I'll become a train driver, but how are you going to get the goods you buy into the shops?

People just don't stop and think, everything in your life has at some point been on the back of a truck, whether it's the car you drive, the house you live in,the furniture you sit on,the food you eat even the factory you work in,it's all come by truck.

And perhaps we are now on Facebook to encompass a wider following and therefore gain new member's.
But with comments like 'Sad people who never go out' I don't think there'll be a warm welcome for them.
