Berlingo... to buy or not to buy?
#1
Hey everyone!

I've never owned a Berlingo, but my current car (mondeo estate) has passed away, so desperatly looking for something new.

I do multi drop, around 80-120 parcels a day... I have a seen a Berlingo advertised locally, but dont really know enough about them and googling brings up mixed results.

The one we are looking at is a 2001, 1.9 citroen berlingo diesel multispace. 112500 miles.

some reviews show they are super slow, and a low high speed.. I do motorway driving fairly often (around 500 miles once every couple of months) so need something pretty comfy.

The asking price is £995... does this sound reasonable? do they come with any extras as standard... elec windows, air con etc?

Sorry for the questions... its our max budget so really want to get the best we can for the money Sad

thanks for any advice.. its all welcomed, good or bad Smile

They are a good workhorse.

That model will run and run if it's been looked after. I test drove one and it wasn't what I would call slow or under gunned.

They are fairly basic. It should have electric windows if it's a multispace. Very unlikely to have aircon.

Yes the 1.9 is fairly slow, it struggles to cruise at 70 & slows down on hills but its your best bet for car of that age, make sure you have evidence of cambelt change, interval is 80k miles. Comfortable drive tho & mine used to average 44mpg.
