Hi Trevor
my vehicle has stickers in two different places saying " this vehicle is fitted with a spare wheel lock" well as far as I know that was a Citroen fitted lock. (Expensive as well) Well all it is to the best of my knowledge is a hole in the boot floor and a bolt with a wheel nut which goes into the spare wheel. Mine was not there when I bought it.
For the price quoted for supply and fitting they are having a laugh:censored:

I know that is not a lot of help but if it prevents you from getting ripped off by the dealers it will have done it's job.

I use a cycle cable lock wound through the spare and carrier frame, In a rubble sack to keep it clean!
Is a good deterrent for the oppurtunist I think?
Also ensure the valve is facing upwards so that the tyre cannot be slightly deflated and removed from the carrier by the light fingered Smile

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Thank you for the replies. I have the Citroen 'bolt through the boot floor' type on my 2003 HDi which secures it, but of course leaves a bolt head proud. I am about to order a new Mulitspace and dont fancy the idea of that again. I think I may go the the cycle chain method this time.

I too use the cycle cable lock method, also threaded through the "chassis" to make it that bit more difficult for the thieving scum out there.
