removing stereo
is it possible to use really thin screwdrivers instead of stereo removal keys? It's such an arse to get things over here and the local dealers will charge me a fortune as this is France and nothing is cheap except wine. I only need the serial number to get the code to unlock the damn thing
why do i always find thing five seconds after asking a question

coat hangars apparently!
yes that would be fine but be carefull no to damage surround
could also check owner book located under drivers seat in a tray
Or EBAY a few quid i reakon if that
Old wire coat hangers make great stereo removal tools!
Somedays you're the pigeon, Somedays you're the statue.
ive just used four nails Big Grin
I find hex keys work well, coat hangar wire is sometimes a little too large diameter.

Many years ago someone used what appeared to be a crow bar to remove my stereo.
And a hammer to open the window first.
Bit messy; but it worked.
Police were no help.Confusedillyme:
I still havent got round to taking it out yet but glad that it looks like it'll be easy! Thanks for the ideas (as I can't find a wire coat hangar anywhere anyway)
Here in the UK if you take your log book to a dealer they will tell you the code.
