Timing belt on 1.9 diesel
#1
hi ,
does anyone know how many miles these should be done at?
mine 1.9 diesel van has done 120000 now and i bought it when it had 105000 on the clock,
maybe i should guess that i was done before i bought it by the last owner so will it be due another one??

thanks

Can't think what the reccomended mileage for change is but it may be worth changing just for peace of mind....

Depends what you call hard. If you have done a cambelt before or are reasonably spanner handy it wont be a problem. Need to take the o/s engine mount and wheel arch inner off. Change waterpump at same time! They're around £25 iirc. Good excuse to change coolant and replace cold idle speed thermostat as well. Big Grin

Think i paid 75 for my last kit (quality goodyear not ching ping ebay). Water pump was around 25. 200 labour sounds a bit steep.
