TYRES!?

You would need to contact the maker or importer to get specific data, but a general answer is "Yes". Note that some alloy wheels are sold with the pointed imputation they're for commercial applications. If you're using donor wheels, sensible comparison of the two vehicles in terms of load and power may be of assistance.

Well I have been looking with not much luck for any information on the wheels. They are from a 205 GTi, so maybe too small really. Cant make sense of the writting on the wheels :S

Have attatched a pic if anyone knows the make..

Part of "driving to the conditions" IMO includes being aware of how your tyres may behave.

If dead stops at minimum distance really mattered above all, I'd have the lightest 17" wheels, stickiest tyres and 330×28mm Tarox rotors with four pot Brembos off a Pug 607.

Idea is to make the most of what you have. A berlingo with decent quality pads and decent tires will stop fine.

Point is dont make it worse for yourself by buying s**t stuff.

Lassa make decent tires at a good price.

I've actually managed to get brake fade (266×20 discs plus drums) without trying too hard - and that was a long way from maximum rated load. I'd have had barely 120kg in the rear. The door placard pressures seem very high too - nice low rolling resistance but with a rock hard, light commercial tyre it certainly skates well.

I use 38 front and 45-50 rear. Rolls round less. Im a tad aggressive driver.

If your getting brake fade easy its one of 2 things.

Most likely its fluid thats never been changed. I use 5.1 as iv loads for the bike.

Also very likely is s**t pads made of mostly binding material, very low % braking material. Get bosch or ebc pads.

Dont get brake fade at all.

They'd be either Valeo or Citroën discs/pads/shoes; agree my DOT4 is probably ancient - it's on the list to do, along with new flex hoses.

I'd like to think the 10% increase in rotor thickness they made around 2000, was in recognition of a design shortfall.
