Replaced Components
#1
I recently requested a breakdown of work that had been carried out to my newly acquired 58 XTR (Ime the second owner and it is on 35000 miles now). It makes interesting reading that may be of interest to other owners. At 23061 miles, worn drop links replaced (I had to do the same job on both my previous Multispace). At 28543 new rear discs and pads fitted and at 30295 new front pads fitted. i had to replace the front discs on my previous car at about 45000 and I certainly do not overuse or 'ride' the brakes. Perhaps I am too used to older cars that never needed discs even with loads of miles on them.

Can't comment on the drop-links yet.... but new asbestos free brake material seems to wear out the likes of disks and drums more quickly so obviously more abrasive. Probably made from carborundum or metal filings insted of the old camel-s**t and asbestos...
