Switching from Radio to cd player
#1
Hi
Im new, and have a question about my van.
Its a 05 berlingo van with factory fitted radio in it.
I really want a CD player put in BUT it has a steering wheel paddle thingy (to control radio/volume) and a screen type thing on the dashboard that tells you the radio station playing and if doors are open etc
I want these to continue to work if i put a CD player in.
So my question is do i need a special cd player?
i dont have a instruction book or anything.
Thanks

Hi Becky
Watching with baited breath for a response to your thread as I've just retrieved a cd from the kids room after 2 years :brickwall: and would like to listen to it in the van

Hi, an original type of CD player fitted to the Peugeot's and Citroen's will work with your stalk control but you will have to have this coded to your Vin No. There are plenty on ebay selling these and also offering to code them as well.

Hi, yes as long as the car it's come from has a display.
See this ebay item, No.280885229627 This is the same one that I purchased and works fully. Confusedalut:

I kept the Radio with the cassette and fitted one of these http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?pr...=12&page=1

It uses USB memory sticks or SD memory cards and plugs into the back of the original radio and works like a multi CD changer.

All I had to do to get it to work was to get my local Citroen dealer to connect up to the OBD port and tell the radio that a CD changer was connected.

Thanks. Sorted now, lucky for me someone on eBay had one close to me and fitted and coded it for me for 45 quid!
