Have you had a code reader on it? Get the codes read and report back.

is there a way to read the codes without a reader on my astra you could short two pins and read the codes the hard way with a flashing light on the console ???

Sounds like an immobiliser problem to me. Have you tried a different key?

Do you get a bleeping sound and a flashing yellow icon with a key shape in it? If not, its not the immobiliser.

Have you checked the diesel is getting through? Pump the button next to the fuel filter on the rhs of the front of the engine and see if it goes stiff after a good few presses, this shows fuel is getting to the filter, you would have to crack an injector pipe to prove its getting through the injection pump under cranking. Also the fuel stop solenoid may have jammed shut or lost its 12v supply, that will kill it from starting too. It is in the injection pump and is a brass barrel affair, but you have to get the security covers off the pump to get at it or test it.

This is my first Berlingo the Engine would not start due to a Faulty Heater Relay i checked out the heater voltage which should be 10.6volts ish up to 12 v if relay and battery are very good quick way i proved it by carefully shorting the heater rail to +v on the mail battery contact for 8 seconds then disconnected the short making sure i didn't short the battery to anything else then started it it works fine no need to pay to check the fault codes thanks to all who replied to my thread

Hi have been reading all these forms trying to find a solution. I have seen same problem but I don't see any fixes. Don't drive van very often it started last week but yesterday I open door and headlights came on and I could hear the motor for light running so I unplugged it. remote lock not working, dash flashing fuel light/ no millage/ a picture of an engine/ oh and center display blinking.. took out BSI it had water in it:eek:. took it apart no visual damage I dried it out cleaned all connections was hopeful but it didn't help. the van has a leak must be wind screen seal the floor it wet as well. shall I look behind the kick panels? engine turns over but wont fire. oh I have tried the reset twice as well. any ideas please help... thanks

If you ran the engine with a wet BSI then it may well be damaged. We have a member here who can repair such things!
If you PM "trustme" and give him the details he'll be able to help you further.
The leak could be caused by a blocked scuttle and drain which is quite common. Remove the wipers and the plastic cover
and check that the area underneath is not full of leaves etc.
