Hi Everybody!
#11
Thanks Coco. I'm going to have a look at a couple of Berlingo's tomorrow, shall see if any of them float my boat.

Ok, so the 2 I saw today were not for me, both had pretty shabby interiors which were not really shown truthfully in the online pics I saw, I understand the interiors can be a bit fragile, but i think I can find better ones...

Going to look at a '53 plate 2.0hdi Forte tomorrow 105,000miles which "looks" to be in good nick, I asked the seller about history/cambelt change to which he replied he couldn't find any evidence of cambelt being changed...hmmm...

If I like it I'm tempted to buy and take it to a friends garage to get the cambelt & water pump changed, should be maybe 4hours labour???
Obviously I'd haggle the seller down a couple of hundred quid at least to cover most of the servicing costs. I take it a Mk2 2.0hdi will have the DW10TD engine??

Ker-ching!! Big Grin. Today I pit down a deposit on a 53' plate Berlingo 2.0hdi Forte. Will pick it up later this week after they have serviced, MOT'd and taxed it.

Looks in good nick, interior looks good, engine sounds sweet and pulls much better than I expected given that my last car had well over 100bhp more than the Berlingo.

I've already been looking at tat on Ebay to "enhance" the Berlingo Rolleyes I swore that after my last car my modifying days were over, but it looks like it's an addiction that's hard to kick

Just one thing, there's no Citroen Owner handbook with the Berlingo, and the download links in the Mk2 section are all dead.
Has anyone got a copy of the owners handbook & radio handbook for a 2003 model they can send via email?

Look here for a 2003 Manual, Audio Guide and wallet:

Picked up the 'lingo today, had a faultless drive back home, feels a bit strange having so much headroom, but it's nice to have plenty of room to fit a mountainbike in the backBig Grin

I did a stupid thing when I got back home though... in my eagerness to swap the radio/cassette for my Alpine ipod headunit I removed the old and test fitted the new one, to make sure it worked... without disconnecting the battery... you can guess what happenedRolleyes

Yep, a loose and unnecessary spade connector touched the metal casing of the headunit & blew a fuse:lol: I had a bit of a panic as all the dash lights came on and the car wouldn't start:eek:
After I'd composed myself though I did a Google search and followed a link to this very forum, which directed me to the fusebox under the steering wheel, fortunately there was a spare 20A fuse under there and I got it all sorted out, I've re-fitted the original radio/cassette for the time being though... at least until I get a couple of spares... just in caseWink

The worst thing is though, I'm an electrician/engineer and have fitted many headunits in the past, but this time I let eagerness overrule common senseSmile

Will take some pics when I get a chance.
