Picked up the 'lingo today, had a faultless drive back home, feels a bit strange having so much headroom, but it's nice to have plenty of room to fit a mountainbike in the back
I did a stupid thing when I got back home though... in my eagerness to swap the radio/cassette for my Alpine ipod headunit I removed the old and test fitted the new one, to make sure it worked... without disconnecting the battery... you can guess what happened
Yep, a loose and unnecessary spade connector touched the metal casing of the headunit & blew a fuse:lol: I had a bit of a panic as all the dash lights came on and the car wouldn't start:eek:
After I'd composed myself though I did a Google search and followed a link to this very forum, which directed me to the fusebox under the steering wheel, fortunately there was a spare 20A fuse under there and I got it all sorted out, I've re-fitted the original radio/cassette for the time being though... at least until I get a couple of spares... just in case
The worst thing is though, I'm an electrician/engineer and have fitted many headunits in the past, but this time I let eagerness overrule common sense
Will take some pics when I get a chance.
