Roof Rack
#1
Do the Mk1 roofracks fit Mk 2 roofs? Ebay Item number: 280905797708 comes from a 51 reg and if it fits my 54 reg would be great for what I want to do.

yes that will fit yours , does your lingo have tailgate or twin doors, if it tailgate the roller on the roof rack would probably hit it when opened but i think you should be able to detach the roller somehow

Yes mine does have the tailgate. I think I'll have a bid on it though.

Looks a good solid rack if you can get it for the right money

Ok that's going to be too much money. Now what about these roof bars.

It says will fit BERLINGO 5 Door Multispace Vehicles without original longitudinal bars. Does that include the Modutop bars. I've asked the seller but he doesn't seem to know.

Longitudinal bars are the Modutop bars. Even if you take them off, the other bars can foul the mounting points.

The item you pointed to is no longer available

yes.
You have to remove all rails and bars until you are down to the metal 'tabs' that are welded to the roof.
The ebay bars will then clamp to these.

BTW, I can personally recommend these.
I got a set off ebay for my '07.
Brilliant design, unbeleivably strong and well finished -unlike a set of paddy hopkirk things I had on an Astra which rusted away inside the vinyl coating.

After 3 years of hard labour and another 2 years propped against the side of the shed they were still nearly-new looking.
I put them back on ebay and recouped more than half my initial outlay.
Worth a lookConfusedalut:[/align]
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

I got the original Ebay Item number: 280905797708. It didn't make its reserve so I bagged it for £65. Bargain. Flip me but it's heavy though, steel framed beasty. Put it on in the pouring rain with the help of the bloke selling it and drove back through the pouring rain to home. Ipssing down all the way there and all the way back.
