I have a Berlingo 1.4 petrol that also runs on lpg,I am getting a misfire in no.2 which leads to engine going into limp mode,have put in new injector on number 2 and new plugs and coil pack,the problem still persists,I'v just had another engine fitted but the problem existed in the old one also.
when plugged in it comes up as misfire on No.2 and oxygen sensor,but i guess that would show anyway due to the misfire,my mechanic has wracked his brains and nothing,any suggestions please as my van is my livelyhood.:brickwall:
As an after thought,could there be a break in the loom to the injectors?
Firstly, is the misfire just on LPG or does it do it on petrol as well??

First thing to do is establish if the LPG system is the cause or the petrol engine.

My guess from the limited information is the LPG is your problem as you have changed the petrol injector and coil pack and plugs. Therefore most of the petrol causes can be ruled out as it also did it on the previous engine.

My 1.6 is LPG and that had mis-fire issues on cylinder 4. The cause was actually worn LPG injectors.

Have a look at those. Does the misfire happen more when the engine is not upto full temp?

LPG injectors get a build up of sticky residue in them from heavy ends that are present in the LPG. First off try removing them, cleaning with carb cleaner. However, I replaced mine and the problem was solved.

Thanks for your reply,had injectors on lpg replaced last year,problem is now solved,was showing no.2 misfire which is on the flywheel end as in firing sequence,turned out not to be this injector though,was another,took to a diagnostics place this morning and they sorted problem out after replacing 1 and switching another 2 injectors,now runs like new.

I had a persistent misfire for about eighteen months on my petrol 1.6. I replaced lots of components including coil pack to no avail.
Eventually someone pointed out that I shouldn't tickle the accelerator pedal when starting her up, and amazingly enough exercising this little restraint has cured the misfire for the past 3 years.
Doh, first petrol car I've had with computerised ignition!
