My van broken
#1
Well damn, my 1.9 lingo van decided to throw coolant from somewhere around the engine block today. Not good.
I've been having problems for awhile now, what with cold starting and using a little oil and water.

Well my sons workmate, who works for Cosworth race engines, is looking at it later.
He gave me a worst case. New piston rings, head skim, new valve seals, new cambelt and pulley, valve shims, water pump, new gaskets, coolant and new oil and filter.....no more than £400 all in. seems like a good deal.
Will let you all know how it gets on.

If he does fit a cossy in can he do one in my multispace? Was outside there workshop earlier today getting mine fixed at bodymek.

Well he has just left. Checked compression and all is ok, so no rings needed. The coolant leak is coming from thermostat housing, so no head gasket.
Checking the shims on valves tomorrow and changing if needed. Changing oil and filter, new coolant, replacing thermostat housing and rocker cover gasket. plus he found my top engine mount knackered, so changing that. All for the sum of £100 all in. Nice one
