On My 1.9 DW8
The aux belt split allowing a width of two ribbed sections to wrap round the crank timing pulley causing the timing belt to slip. I did not have the time equipment or room to rebuild so I sold it. The chap I sold it to got back to me, and there was no valve/cam or head damage but the belt tensioner was wrecked, the idler plley bent and the water p/p shaft was bent also. as the head has been off this might have happened to yours in the past and an out of kilter pulley may be causing your belt to wander.
