Driving with Sciatica/piriformis
#1
I don`t know what brings this on. Could be excessive running, lack of flexibility, or even posture when in front of the laptop! (most likely cause, I reckon)
However, having changed to a desktop, I have no problem operating the computer any more, or even running shortish distances.

But the Mk3 driving seat is still good for only half an hour before stopping becomes necessary.

and on heart, I can`t be sure of the facts here. Which is why I`ve posted it. Any other ole b*ggers out there been troubled??

Before my illustrious Berlingo,I had a C15 for 8 years. It was agony as I also suffer with sciatica.
A friend who is a van courier50-60,000 miles PA advised a "backfriend".It's not cheap but my pain went.I drive regularly to southern Germany & the difference was unbelievable. After several hundred miles I could get out & WALK instead of limping like a 3 legged dog.Google it & see what you think.
I don't need it in the Berlingo as it seems to fit better.

I had a C15 before the run of blingos none have been any bother at all .
Howvever the work induced back strain has been eased this week as Ive been driving a 2011 Fiesta. This has bucket sided seating and is amazingly comfortable compared with my MK3.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

my mk1 berlingo was so comfy, this mk3 is terrible, if find the base bit where the stitching is harder than the rear part of the base and squashes the crown jewels and the lack of side support i find myself having to really hang on to the steering wheel just to corner, currently trying to fit another drivers seat but unfortuantly no one makes a tailored base, dont like the look of the universal ones. i read reports how much more comfy the mk3 was compared to the mk1, but not for me. i might sell up and get a late mk2 if i cant change the seat.

Oh my! Ive crerated a hornet`s nest (mini version) here . . . I had trouble wi the Punto (mk 1) seat but, like my present car, I`m not sure the seat is the main problem. Just doesn`t help . .

Just got back in My MK 3 this morning after 2 weeks in a Ford Fiesta.

Think I'll be getting a Ford next time.
The Hearse is shocking- noisy and uncomfortable.

I suffer from the same and I've found the Berlingo one of the better cars. I get to drive a fair range of things when going to meetings and most cars I struggle to get a good position - usually too close to the pedals when I can reach the wheel properly. I don't have particularly short arms. I tend to have the seat fairly high to keep a straight back.

The only car that was better was my old Jag. The worst of my own cars was my ZX. The Wife's metro was surprisingly good. Overall, the worst I've had recently as a hire car was a 1-series BMW, but the driving position was the least of my gripes with that. I prefer the Saxos I used to get as courtesy cars, which I referred to as s**t Boxes because they were so awful.

We had a Fiesta when our Berlingo was being fixed (damaged rear bumper) and, I must confess, I was glad to get out of it! (My wife has arthritis, she COULDN`T get out of it!!) The best fiesta imo was the 1.25 of 10 years or so ago. It was a flier!
