I have a 2003, 53 reg, Berlingo Desire.
About 9 months ago I had the common problem of the buttons on my key falling out. First one then the other. No problem, as I just pushed the little micro-switches with my fingernail.
Then the locking micro-switch somehow fell out and disappeared.
So, for the past 3 months or so, I've been unlocking the car remotely, but locking it with the key in the driver's door.
About 2 weeks ago however, turning the key in the lock just locks the driver's door, and doesn't activate the central locking. I have to unlock again and then turn the key more forcefully. Usually locks everything by the third attempt.
Is there some sort of contact inside that needs cleaning, and is this easily done?
And, apart from going to a dealer and paying a lot for a new key, what are my remote key options?
I've seen this one on ebay, but is there some issue with replacement keys like this not working on Berlingos built after 2002?
Thanks for any help.
