Berlingo gripes - feedback!
#1
All the storage places are funny shapes and bloody awful.

There`s nowhere to place a flask (or cup of coffee for that matter) except that boxy thin between the front seats, if fitted.

Seat belts are (like all Citroens) awkward to put on.

Gearbox is a bit clunky

Diesel is noisy `till warmed up.

Front seats OK but inferior to the Doblo.

Windows don`t let in much light. They`re actually small.

Interior is too sober. Funereal even.

Everything else is . . . . wonderful! I`ll be getting another. . . .

Yep agree with you there. Glove box is bloody stupid and as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

Well there are 3 cup holders, 2 are not much use but the one on the front of the box is OK. But yes the box is useful as a table

Seat belts are (like all Citroens) awkward to put on.

Haven't found that yet.

Gearbox is a bit clunky

Yes!!

Diesel is noisy `till warmed up.

Er no!!

Front seats OK but inferior to the Doblo.

Quite like the seats, Comfy on a long run. Done Manchester and back today and no aches or pains. Havent been in a doblo to compare but would have a new shape one at the drop of a hat.

Windows don`t let in much light. They`re actually small.

Mine don't now with limo tint film but again thought the light was OK.

Interior is too sober. Funereal even.

Yes thats my thoughts too, Interior could have been so much better with some thought put into it.

Everything else is . . . . wonderful! I`ll be getting another. . . .

I won't Be!!

True, but I can still store what I need to.

There`s nowhere to place a flask (or cup of coffee for that matter) except that boxy thin between the front seats, if fitted.

Never drink out of a cup when driving - usually a plastic bottle of water.

Seat belts are (like all Citroens) awkward to put on.

Never been a problem for me

Gearbox is a bit cllunky

Wish it was a 6 speed but don't find it clunky.

Diesel is noisy `till warmed up.

Haven't found that to be the case.

Front seats OK but inferior to the Doblo.

Never driven a Doblo but find the seats fine for my usual trips under two hours

Windows don`t let in much light. They`re actually small.

I don't find that to be the case.

Interior is too sober. Funereal even.

Mine is nice and light and OK. If I wanted plush I'd have bought a Lexus SUV
2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 with FAP. Persamos green.

Well I guess the above and the fact I just don't "love it" but yesterdays trip to Manchester certainly reminds me how comfy it is on a long distance romp. Used 3/4 of a tank a diesel for about 450 miles so that's about par for the course.
Mind it will be better once I get cruise fitted too.

on the 3 seater van 09 i find the drivers seat not enough lateral support and the base a bit hard, also find the pedals are offset to the left and are to close together for my size 11s and the auto locking of cargo area and trying to remember to unlock it from dash switch when ive still got keys in and running are my gripes, adjustable intermitant wipers would be nice, on the plus side i find the accessorie plug in the rear very handy, the engine is very quiet compared to my old berlingo, no notchy gearbox or banging from suspension as ive read some suffer from, so i would say overall the van has grown on me after initialy really not liking it

I have just been driving kangoo and nissan something courtesy vans, the kangoo is good except for the weird handbrake lever and no electric windows but after a day in the nissan I have forgotten any gripes I had about my berlingo. Jeez what an appalling van! My main gripe such as I remember for the berlingo was the steering, for the rest it chugged along fine, no pretensions just did its job. Oh, and champagne bottles dont fit in the cup holder so I have to hold them between my knees. :brickwall:

To a point yes, But reviews, they don't tell you about the things that matter though do they.

The dreadful body control on the Xtr, The skittery ride, Xtr again. The useless storage pockets Xtr again. And no I didn't test drive it but having said that you wouldn't necessary pick this up in a short drive. The fact I have only done 3500 miles in it and the front brakes are rubbing/squeaking as your driving down the motorway. More bloody money I haven't got to find to put it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You only really get to know what something is like to live with after you have lived with it.

I'm sorry Philip if you don't like it but Tough, I am entitled to my Opinion.

At the end of the day it's a bloody van derivative.I knew that when I bought it & it exceeded my low expectations by a mile.
Then there's the price,I paid £11,600 for a desire 1.6Hdi with aircon & 92 BHP motor. With the trip computer & the silly trolley as well!!
My ONLY gripe is the space taken up with the trolley, wherever I threw it.
If I had wanted a limo,I would have bought one.(s/h at that money).
I drive to southern Germany & then to Dresden every year & it eats motorway miles comfortably & economically.
Can't ask more than that.
