NO FOOD OR DRINK
#1
Couple ( ? ) of Questions- if you drive a taxi / private hire do you allow passengers to get into vehicle with food and./ or drink and do you allow them to consume it ?
If you are a passenger would you expect to be allowed to take food / drink into a vehicle ?
If you are a passenger how do you feel if you step into a taxi that smells of food ? Confusedcratch: thanx in advance.

As a passenger I would expect to be able to take food into a taxi, but not to consume it whilst inside.

I've bought a take away before and gone home with it in a taxi for eating at home.

I wouldn't expect a bottle of water would be much cause for concern, but other drinks, no I would imagine any driver would be happy you consuming them.

Personally I'd never eat food in a taxi and wouldn't expect to be allowed to. If I step into a cab and it smelled like some fast food shop I'd be put off. Same as if it smelled like someone had been smoking in it or had expelled a juicy bit of flatulence.

As a passenger I can't believe how many taxis allow it. Chicken is the worst - it must stink four or five fares later.

It's bad enough if the cabbie is a smoker, even when he isn't smoking he still reeks of an ashtray for the whole trip.

Bad enough if I noticed stains ( food, juice, water etc.) But could you imagine if I missed it and someone came in and sat on it ? Thats their day or night wasted.

I allow Passengers to bring food or drink in but NOT eat it, sometimes the smell can linger even if its not been opened but nothing a quick spray of air freshener cant fix.
The passengers that cant take NO for an answer are normally drunk.

Did you know its Illegal to consume alcohol in a taxi.

Exactly, but some folk forget that and think you're being a bore, then there's the snackbox- " Honest, I won't eat it." Then you hear the "munch, munch, munch " lol.

Can't remember the last time I went in a taxi?
Must be 20+ years ago.
Not been on a bus since 1978, when I was at school.
And NEVER been on a train. Ever.
My parents never travelled by train, must be genetic.
My oldest son didn't set foot on a train till he was 25, and my youngest son has been on a train once (and he's 20).
What's it like...?

I wouldn't dream of eating or drinking in a cab.At the end of the day,it's respect (or lack of) of other peoples' property.
